Going for a walk with our baby is one of the daily activities that mom and dad like the most. These are moments of tranquility that the little one also appreciates, in which we take the opportunity to buy, have a coffee, or catch up on WhatsApp messages while the baby sleeps or is distracted looking around.

But sometimes leaving home is not an easy task, especially when the child is still very young. It's not just taking the baby, the stroller, and going out. The stroller bag is essential, and even more important is to carry everything you need inside to solve any contingency. Today we bring you a list of the things you cannot leave at home, the most important thing you have to carry in your stroller bag.

  • Diapers and wipes: We start with the most basic. Going out without diapers or wipes can lead to a fun situation. Always, always, always have to wear at least a pair or three of diapers, even if it's just to go to the supermarket, because we never know what can happen. And we already know that great ability that children have to poop just when we just put a clean diaper on them.
  • Changer: Some bags for the stroller already have it incorporated, otherwise, do not forget to get one and always carry it on you. It is a fabric with a plastic surface in which we can change the baby, in this way we make sure to always have a clean surface at hand and also easily washable with just passing a wipe.
  • Cream for the bum: Many children are irritated by the bum due to excessive humidity caused by diapers. The advisable thing when the very irritated area is already is to try to leave it in the air for a while, but when we go for a walk it is important to take a good cream that makes a barrier and avoids irritation to put it on after each diaper change.
  • Bib: Another of the great basics! Indispensable in any stroller bag and advisable whatever the age of the child. You never know when hunger will strike, or when we will need it to clean up slime, for example.
  • Spare change: Or two, if the walk is going to last several hours! It is not uncommon for the baby to dirty his clothes when the pee or the poo escapes, so it is more than advisable to always carry an entire change of clothes. Also, grab a couple of plastic bags so you can put the dirty clothes separate from everything in the bag, and another one for the diaper, in case we don't have any garbage on hand.
  • Antiseptic hand gel: We do not know what we are going to touch, and to avoid being in contact with bacteria that may be bad for our baby, it is best to always carry a small bottle of antiseptic gel on hand that we can put on before changing the diaper or simply to be sure to be well cleaned.
  • A small towel: It will be useful especially if our baby has reflux, something very common in small babies. If we do not want to spend the day washing the fabric of our stroller, it is best to put a small towel or a protector for small puffs of milk. We can also use it to put it on our shoulders if we lift the little one, so we avoid having to carry a change for us too 😉
  • Sunscreen: Especially in spring and summer it is very important to adequately protect our baby's skin. Although some voices recommend not applying sun cream to children under 6 months, if we can avoid it, we should opt for one with a physical filter, and not a chemical one, so that the skin does not absorb chemicals that can cause reactions. It is always better to avoid the sun, but in case it cannot be avoided in any way, carrying sunscreen in your bag can help us.
  • Pacifier: For babies who use a pacifier, it is ideal to carry one or two inside a pacifier protector, in case they lose the one they are wearing, or in case it falls and we have no way to wash it. Even if we go out alone to buy food, we never know what can cause crying in our baby, and perhaps we will be caught paying in the supermarket, so it is better to carry a pacifier to save the situation if we cannot resort to arms.
  • Feeding bottle: For babies who do not drink breast milk, it is essential to carry a bottle with the corresponding dose of water and the milk dispenser, in case you get hungry and we are not yet home.
  • Water bottle: This is basically for older babies and especially during the hot months, in which it is very important to hydrate. If you still don't know how to drink from a bottle, you can take the evolutionary glass or bottle with water.
  • Muslin: We are sure that in winter you will take a good bag (you can remember our recommendations on bags here), but in summer it is essential to always carry a muslin with us. It can be used to cover the sun (although always allowing air to enter the stroller) or to put it on the ground if we stop to play in the park. In winter a blanket can help us with the same, since the soil can be wet.
  • Toys: It is not necessary to carry the entire playroom on top, but it is good to carry something that can entertain the baby at any given time, be it a doll or a rattle, although the great resource always ends up being the house keys. We already know that there is no better toy than anything that is NOT a toy, right? 🙂
  • Something to eat: We are not referring to food, but to a small tupper with cookies, fruit or something to eat, in case we want to entertain the stomach of older babies until feeding time. How many children do we see walking so happily with a piece of bread in hand? Food is always a mid-morning salvation.

And you, what do you always carry in your stroller bag? What are your essentials?
