A book dedicated to grandmothers
The prestigious pediatrician, Raquel Monfort, has written a book entitled "Mom, I also want to give tit", an illustrated album dedicated to grandmothers who have supported breastfeeding their daughters ... although they could not breastfeed.
Pediatrician, lactation consultant and mother
The author of this book, Raquel Monfort Gil, pediatrician and mother of 3 children, trained as a pediatrician 18 years ago. Montfort explains that she started her profession following the standards learned, but then she became a mother, and that changed everything. Cold and rigid knowledge was rethought from top to bottom to discover a respectful, flexible and child-centered pediatrics, while still being scientific, to delve into the psychological and human aspects of babies, children and parents.

Soon after the birth of her first child, she trained as a breastfeeding consultant and that led her to help many mothers and babies who could not find support from health professionals. Now, Montfort says that luckily this has changed a lot in the last 12 years and there are many support networks and some trained toilets.
A generation with formula milk
Although it reveals that 40 and 60 years ago there were hardly any supports. “Our mothers, now grandmothers, used to find themselves lost if they needed advice. Everything was in favor of formula, pediatricians at the time knew a lot about formula and little or hardly any "tit."
So, this book wants to reflect the current moment of women who were barely able to breastfeed, who are now grandmothers and support their daughters with their babies unconditionally, with respect. These grandmothers deserve recognition for that generation, who can heal their hearts with their grandchildren.
