Christmas is over (finally?) And the routine returns, the gray days and no light, and the long winter evenings. But this is not the scariest thing, no sir. What terrifies parents the most is how to organize all the toys without dying trying. Between Santa Claus, the Three Wise Men, invisible friends, El Tió ... our house is filled with junk everywhere, our toys flood us! Today we bring you 10 tips to help you better organize toys and avoid being eaten alive.

  1. Before Christmas, order. It seems contradictory, doesn't it? Well, no! It is very important to be aware of the toys that we already have and to review what children are most entertained with or what they never listen to. Ordering everything and seeing what we have will help us write a letter to the Kings much more realistic and sensible.
  2. So many go in, so many go out. It is very easy: if the child receives 5 new toys, choose 5 of the old ones and give them to an association that collects toys or gives them to an entity where they can have a second life with other children.
  3. Throw, throw, throw ... If we look closely we will notice that children accumulate a number of small pieces, pieces of dolls, plastic toys that we do not know where they came from, ... a whole world of objects that are useless and with which no one will ever play . Have no regard, his destiny is clear. Goodbye.
  4. Rotation of toys. Christmas is a good time to save some toys and give them a break while the little ones only have eyes for the new ones. In a few months, when they start hating new ones, it will be time to rotate again and rescue those who sleep in the closet. For children it will be like getting new toys again!
  5. A place for everything, and everything in its place. That easy! All the dolls in a trunk, and their accessories in a basket. The kitchen food in a wooden box, and the garage cars in the box with wheels. As you want and where you want, but let all the inhabitants of the house know that there does not have to be a toy on the floor, since everyone has their own house.
  6. Storage, do not miss! It is one of the few things that will never be left over. Since everything has to go to its place, it is important to have all kinds of storage: boxes, shelves, buckets, baskets, drawers under the bed, etc. Go to shopping to buy cute boxes and you will see how easy it will be to have the house tidy and also with style.
  7. Let the kids participate! They are their toys and it is their space, it is important that they can make decisions and that we negotiate together all those decisions that may affect them. Also, if we make them part of the process they will understand and accept it better, and order will reign in our house forever, or at least until the birthday arrives 😉
  8. Label the boxes with what they have inside, and if you still can't read with a drawing. It is an original and very practical idea, so that when it comes to storage, they can better guide where everything is going.
  9. Storage at the child's height. They will hardly help us collect the books if the shelves are at a height unreachable for them. Better everything at the height of the short ones.
  10. Integrate the order in the decoration. Today there is furniture that already comes with facilities to collect what is used in them, such as those little tables with a hole in the middle to leave the pencils only pushing them. Or chairs with storage underneath. Everything is searching.
